Getting Sun-Kissed with Sonia Kashuk
I will admit it I am a little bit obsessed with being tan. Unfortunately, thanks to cancer-causing UV rays, I am unable to get the real sun-kissed glow that I so much desire. On the brighter side, I have come up with a makeup routine that mimics my favorite bronzed look while sparing me from any harmful rays. Here is my quick, simple, and affordable makeup routine featuring a few new products from Sonia Kashuk’s spring line that will give you the healthy glow you crave:
- Start by blending Sonia Kashuk’s Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, $12.99, over your entire face. This moisturizer is super lightweight, but provides you with just the right amount of coverage and a subtle glow. It gives your skin a perfect base for the rest of your makeup and since it contains SPF and a vitamin complex, it will also keep your skin healthy and youthful.
This is by far my favorite product by Sonia Kashuk, and is a staple in my daily beauty routine. You cannot beat the price for a high-quality tinted moisturizer! Plus if you are worried about breakouts, this is definitely the right moisturizer for you…I am prone to blemishes and this didn’t clog my pores at all, it actually improved my complexion.
- Get glowing with Sonia Kashuk’s Super Sheer Shimmering Highlighter, $9.99. Dab this highlighter onto your cheekbones, brow bone, down your nose and even on your eyes to give your skin a healthy, shimmering glow. Your skin will be moisturized and protected thanks to a blend of hyaluronic acid, Vitamin E, grapeseed oil, linden extract and jojoba oil.
I for one cannot wait to get my hands on this highlighter! My local Target doesn’t carry it yet, but I will be first in line when it arrives! Using a highlighter is perfect in the spring and summer because it mimics the look of a healthy tan. Just a few small dabs on places where the sun naturally would tan your face is all you need to a healthy, glowing complexion.
- Create a subtle smokey eye using Sonia Kashuk’s Eye Shadow Duo in Heaven & Earth, $6.99. Start by applying the darker shade to your lash line and up towards the crease to create a smokey effect. Use the lighter shade to fill in the rest of your eye lid. Using browns to create a smokey eye instead of the standard black is perfect for warmer weather and goes especially well with a golden, sun-kissed look.
Matching your eyeshadow with your blush is one of my all-time favorite tricks. If you are using a bronzer/highlighter like we are in this case, using browns on your eyes as well really pulls the entire look together for a subtle, sexy look. For all of you who don’t think it is a smokey eye unless you use black shadow, definitely give this variation a try…you will be pleasantly surprised.
- Finish off your look with Sonia Kashuk’s Ultra Shine Sheer Lip Gloss in Cheerful, $8.99. This paraben-free lip gloss gives lips a healthy dose of lip-smoothing papaya and pear extracts while delivering a high-shine color without the sticky feeling most glosses have.
Since we are sticking with a neutral palette by using browns and tans on the face and eyes, adding a pop of color to your lips is a great way to increase the glam factor with this look. Candy-inspired colors are hugely popular this spring/summer, and nothing beats a gorgeous coral hue like this gloss!
Well there you have it, a quick and easy 4-step routine that will leave your skin looking perfectly polished for spring and summer. Sonia Kashuk offers amazing, high-quality products at affordable prices, all of which can be found at your local Target.
