Aveda Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener

I am “blessed” with hair that, by description, seems contradictory: I have thick fine hair. By this I mean that the individual hairs on my head are delicate in size (I was going to say “girth,” but that word just sounds weird, doesn’t it?) yet abundant in quantity.

It has taken me years to find a product that will tame my hair’s tendency to “poof” and frizz. I don’t even want to imagine the amount of money I’ve wasted on “anti-frizz” products. But finally, under the skillful hands of my hairdresser, my hair did the impossible- not only was it de-poofed, it rivaled Jennifer Aniston’s hair in smoothness. What on earth was this magical product that tamed the beast, you ask?

Aveda Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener. Simply use a nickel-sized amount, apply on towel-dried hair, then blow-dry. Leave it if you want some body, or follow with a straightener if you want a sleeker look. (I use an additional heat-protective product if I straighten it. More on that some other time!)

A 4.2 oz tube lasts months – although that may be because I only wash my hair twice a week. (I was also “blessed” with dry hair-if washed every day it’s like brushing a haystack.) But a little product goes a long way, so even if you use it every day, I’m guessing it will last you longer than most smoothers.
