Beauty Portions: How Much Product Is Enough?
Recently I pondered to myself as I performed my BBB (Before Bed Beauty) routine, Am I using enough (or not enough) product on my face? My guess was that I was using too much product, a victim of overdoing everything in life. Well, the excessive amounts don’t payoff in the end, and I was literally throwing money out the window…
Do you know how much is enough to use? The next time you get ready for your day or bedtime, observe how much product you’re scooping, dolloping and squeezing… According to Cosmopolitan Magazine, here are the amounts of product necessary to do a bang-up job:
Day Cream (with SPF):
An inch-sized amount of product for both your face and neck will do the trick (Think quarter-sized).
Night Cream:
A nickel-sized portion is all you need. Night formulas are more concentrated so you actually don’t need more!
Eye Cream:
Use an amount about the size of a “flat” M&M candy shared between both of your peepers. Did you know a jar of eye cream should last about 3 months?
Pimple cream:
Apply just enough to cover those annoying zits. Anything more is overkill and you’ll just be drying out the surrounding skin.
And just a little sidenote: Don’t forget to apply sunscreen on your face and neck even on the cloudiest, overcast day if you will be out and about! According to skincancer.org, here, you should apply sunscreen to your face every 2 hours….
Wait? Every two hours? For most women, including myself, it would mean taking off all of our makeup and reapplying it, and realistically we know that’s not going to happen.
A long-wearing sunscreen option is Celazome Moisturizing Sunscreen guaranteed to last 8 hours. And if you are a jet-setting woman, try spritzing a spray-on sunscreen like KINeSYS Fragrance-Free Spray-on Sunscreen SPF 30 or brushing on your sunscreen (Yes, I did say brush! Innovative, yes?) with Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral Brush Sunscreen with SPF 30.
