Self-Tanners
Allure beauty editors once again bravely tests the latest products so we don’t have to. We should be extra grateful this time – they tested the latest self-tanners out this summer. Not exactly something you can wash off, you know? Self tanning can be a tricky – and stinky – adventure. Here’s how the latest ones stand up:
L’Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Gel spray The clear mist spray is nongreasy and lightweight, but you do have to rub it in. The dark honey shade lasts three days.
Clarins Instant Smooth Self Tanning This rich face cream is moisturizing and silky. Gives fair complexions a warm caramel glow.
Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Glow Pad A little different than the usual – these are individual towelettes that contain the self tanning ingredient DHA plus alpha hydroxy acids to slough off dead skin cells. Gives you a subtle but flattering glow.
Jane Iredale Tantasia Self Tanner Tinted lotion lets you see where you’ve applied, dries quickly and smells like grapefruit. Gives face and body a sun-kissed effect.
Rodan + Fields Foaming Sunless Tan This foamy self tanner takes two days to get a good bronze, but the color lasts five days. Leaves palms slightly orange, though!
(I simply have to say this next sentence – but I will apologize in advance.)
Now get glowing, ladies!
C’mon! How could I not say it?
