Treating Yourself to an at Home Facial
Have you ever wondered how to give yourself a facial at home? I’ve been doing it for years, and it’s easy with the right beauty products. We don’t always have the funds or time to visit a Spa – this is a quick and easy guide to a facial in the privacy of your own home – for more beauty tips read Eva Scrivo on Beauty.
1. Remove makeup with makeup remover or Yes to Cucumber Towelettes.
2. Use a facial cleanser to remove dirt and impurities.
3. Exfoliate – Using a facial scrub with round beads is best – they will roll in and our of your pores without being harsh or abrasive.
4. Steaming your face – Soak a few hand towels in hot water, wring them out and apply to your face. Towels should not be too hot while avoiding the eye area. Wrap towels around your face in a horseshoe, make sure you’re lying down and change towels every few minutes.
5. Applying a Purifying Mask – These are the best at finishing the facial process. There are many great masks, PCA Skin, Caudalie, John Masters Organics, and The Organic Pharmacy make really good purifying masks. Follow directions.
6. Massage – Use your favorite moisturizer while using your fingertips and gently move them from the inside to the outside of your face. (Page 183 of Eva Scrivo on Beauty) The facial Massage is optional and can be combined with a hydrating leave on mask treatment.
7. Applying a Hydrating Mask – Once we exfoliate it’s time to replenish the skin with hydration. There are some moisturizing masks that can be left on like Caudalie’s VinoSource or Amala’s Hydrating Yogurt Mask.
8. Time to apply your eye cream, facial serum and night treatment.
Remember that the skin regenerates at night, use your treatments before bed and wake up with luminous and radiant skin.
