Tiny but Mighty: Bottom Lash by Clinique
You might have heard that Clinique has a new mascara out that has been creating lot of buzz…
There isn’t much to it; seriously, I think I have lip glosses bigger than it. It’s one of those items where I questioned, “Is it something that I really need?”, and as a result postponed a future beauty excursion. But curiosity killed the cat and I finally sauntered into the nearest Clinique store.
As I told the nice lady behind the counter what I was looking for, her eyes lit up, she grabbed a sample unit and as she pulled the wand out, exclaimed, “Wait for it…wait for it…wait for it…”
Bam! As she revealed the teensiest wand, my daughter and I both collectively squealed, “Awwwww!” like it was a week-old puppy. Okay, Clinique- score one for the cuteness factor, but… “Does it really work?” was my next question.
She assured me that she used it for not only her bottom lashes but for the top corner lashes that a regular (now seemingly gargantuan) wand seemed too clumsy for. For this girl with once non-existant lashes (Remember? See here), I briefly processed the $10 price tag and proclaimed, SOLD! and away I went with my little mini-mascara and a tube of mascara primer (because I’m a greedy girl , but more on that later).
As soon as I got home, I tried Bottom Lash, because I just couldn’t wait. The little wand…What can i say? Brilliant. You won’t get a lot of formula (which should last the three months’ expiration date and really is enough for what you need it for), but the shining star is the wand… It’s a force to be reckoned with. It coaxed out my most bottom-shy lashes, separated them and coated with a lash formula that I was told lasts 24 hours through humidity, sweat and cold water. I didn’t realize that I had received black/brown instead of my usual black. But never you mind…it still had me doing cartwheels!
Lately, I’ve been using Lipocils which I found really lengthens and gives my lashes a definite volume boost, but I still refrained from brushing mascara on them on a daily basis because most of my bulk is on top. Clinique has changed everything…no smears, flakes or raccoon eyes. Just lovely, lush bottom lashes I never knew I had!
Yay, Clinique!
P.S. If anyone has tried the Maybelline Lash Discovery, I’d love to know what you think of it…
