Kate Middleton: Makeup tips for a Princess
The adage that less is more is true – this holiday Kate Middleton not only captured the heart of a prince, but the hearts of makeup junkies everywhere, especially mine.
During the Royal couple’s photo shoot with Mario Testino, the soon to be Princess of Wales applied her own makeup.
I couldn’t stop gushing over the pictures, I loved her makeup and came up with a quick makeup guide to help us all achieve a pretty makeup application for the princess in all of us.
This guide also substitutes as a 10 minute makeup routine – providing you’re starting with clear and healthy skin.
- Moisturize with an SPF and don’t forget the eye cream – I recommend Vinoperfect by Caudalie and Colbert MD Nourishing eye cream.
- Start the makeup application with an illuminating base – Chanel Illuminating Makeup Base is silky and leaves the skin luminous and dewy $42
- Sheer Foundation- Nars Matte Sheer Foundation $42 or one of my favorites OneBase by Cargo Cosmetics.
- A loose mineral setting powder – Mineral Rice Powder by Youngblood Cosmetics is perfect.
- Grey Kohl eye pencil by Laura Mercier – line your top and bottom lash for a modern smokey eye $19
- Curl your lashes with a heated eyelash curler – I love Talika’s heated eyelash curler $45
- Dust those gorgeous cheeks with beingTrue’s Apricot blush or Cargo Cosmetics Contour Pallet in Malibu $19/$30
- My favorite mascara is Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effect Faux Cils – it’s my favorite! $30
- Lip Gloss/ Lipstick – I love Lip Fixation by jane iredale – in Devotion or Fascination but if you’re feeling bolder try Rapture – it lasts all day until you take it off! $25
Kate did skip the mascara, used a touch of lip gloss and looked stunning – for those of you that wish to skip mascara I recommend Talika Lipocils – because it promotes hair growth and enhances your lashes overnight!
