Beauty Bargains: My Top 5 Drugstore Brands
Garnier: I’ve never met a Garnier product I didn’t love. Whether it’s for my hair or my face, this brand knocks it out of the park every time. Plus, even compared to other drugstore brands it’s inexpensive.
Rimmel London: So far I’ve only tried two products of this brand but loved them both. It speaks well for the Lash Accelerator that I wrote not one but two articles extolling its virtues. My daily foundation is their Lasting Finish 25-Hour Foundation- it is light, covers well, and lasts all day long. I will definitely try more products in the very near future.
NYC New York Color: Their Ultra Last lipstick is my go-to lipstick- I have it in four different shades. Easy to apply and it’s moisturizing without that yucky lipstick taste (take note, Loreal). I also recently tried their nail polish and was impressed at how long it lasted without chipping. Another very inexpensive brand that is also high quality-love it!
Olay: How long has this brand been around, like forever, right? I bet Cleopatra used their nighttime moisturizer. Well, she should’ve – this brand is iconic for a reason. Albeit pricy in comparison, it’s worth the extra dough to splurge on this luxe drugstore brand. And their eye roller? Amazing. It’s 8 hours of sleep in a tube.
Revlon: Out of the “Big Four” drugstore cosmetic brands, Revlon gets my vote. Some brands you like one thing, not so much of another, but I don’t remember ever having a complaint with Revlon. I especially love their ColorStay eyeshadow, and actually prefer it over some of my luxe eyeshadows. And hello, Halle Berry is their spokesmodel. The woman is perfect.
